Understanding Self & Others

Explore patterns of relating to self & others
Author: Joe Alberts

The group is intended for people who wish to:

  • increase self-understanding, self-esteem, and intimacy in relationships
  • address their interpersonal style and relationship-building skills

Problems clients often bring to the group include anxiety, depression, difficulties relating to/accepting self or others, adjustment concerns, issues of family conflict or abuse, and impostor syndrome. Anyone interested in self-exploration is welcome.

There are multiple benefits for people who choose to engage in group therapy. Most often people say that they benefited most from gaining self-understanding, realizing they are not alone, and feeling the support of a warm and comfortable environment. Other benefits include learning about your interpersonal strengths and how others may experience you.

How to join the group...

A free, brief individual meeting will be held to be sure the group is right for you. The group will meet weekly from 12:30pm - 2:00pm starting May 1, 2008 and going until the end of July, 2008.

Call the Psychological Clinic (734.764.3471) now to register for a first meeting. The cost for the group will be $25 per session.

Each group will consist of a maximum of eight group members and will be led by two therapists from the Clinic. All group meetings will be held at the Psychological Clinic.
